Microchipping your pet can be their ticket home if they are lost. In San Antonio city limits, all dogs and cats are required to have a registered microchip.

Microchip implants are an inexpensive and effective way to find lost pets, keeping them out of animal shelters and back where they belong. A microchip is a tiny device — about the size of a grain of rice — that is implanted just under the skin. If your pet is ever lost and brought to a shelter or veterinary clinic, they can be scanned and reunited with you.
